In August of 2000, my family and I headed out to Yermo, CA to chase Union Pacific Challenger 3985 as it headed to Los Angeles for the 2000 Democratic National Convention.

	3985 sits patiently in Yermo after a long day of operating across the Mojave Desert. The tempreture this afternoon was 113 degrees.
